Art Show 2025 participating artists

The symposium art show and sale features the work of talented area artists who create fossil and natural history-related artwork.  Here are some of the participating artists for 2025. Come see their work on Saturday, March 22, and Sunday, March 23, in the lobby of the Green Center at the Colorado School of Mines. The art show is free –– no registration fee is required. 

Artfair Apparel
Artfair’s mission is to uplift artists and share their beautiful work with the world. At the Symposium, they’ll be featuring the creations of Judy Peterson and Gary Raham. Artist website

GEOArt Collective
Neffra Matthews, Susan Serreze and Anne Severn are geologists and members of the GEOArt Collective, an international consortium of artists who share a love and fascination of nature and sciences.

Todd Green, PhD
In addition to anatomy teaching and research, Todd is passionate about translating science through art. He practices pencil/paint art, photography, skeletal articulation and 3D digital imaging.

Russell Hawley
Russell is the education specialist at the Tate Geological Museum at Casper College in Wyoming, where he gives tours and produces artwork for museum displays.

Wendy Luck
Wendy is an accomplished artist with a love of many art mediums. She combines her education in geology with her love of dinosaurs to explore the question of what ancient life really looked like. Artist website

Tiffany Miller-Russell
A WIPS member since 2005, Tiffany’s fascination with paleontology and evolution frequently works its way into her nature-inspired paper sculptures. Her work is regularly shown in national juried museum shows. Artist website

John K. Patterson
John is a self-taught paleoartist who works in acrylics and pyrography. He is also a science fiction author.

Judy Peterson
Judy organized the first symposium art show in 1999 and has been a participant ever since.  She works largely in oils and has illustrated three books on dinosaurs.

Bill Peterson
Bill is a rocket scientist and an artist. He makes stone-topped tables incorporating sandstone with semi-precious focus stones and using recycled metal bases.

R. Gary Raham
The graphic designer for the symposium, Gary writes and illustrates both science fact and science fiction. His artwork often transports viewers through deep space and deep time. Artist website

Charlotte Small
Charlotte focuses on painting through her hobby of paleontology. She will be showcasing hand-painted trilobite necklaces, coasters, bookmarks and more.
