Outreach

Sharing knowledge, inspiring curiousity

At the heart of the Western Interior Paleontological Society (WIPS) is a passion for sharing the fascinating world of paleontology. One of the ways we do this is through educational outreach—bringing fossils, fun, and hands-on learning to earth science events all across the region.

Our knowledgeable member volunteers love connecting with the public by showcasing real fossils and accurate replicas, leading exciting activities for kids (and the young at heart), and helping curious minds identify mysterious (and not so mysterious) fossils they’ve found.

We bring along a variety of engaging materials like authentic fossils and scientifically accurate replicas for hands-on examination, games for kids, and fossil ID challenges using actual scientific references and literature.

WIPS volunteers are also frequently available on request to support STEM activities at K-12 schools.
